Last week, we posted the film photographs from our Maui maternity portraits with the picture-perfect family of almost four – you can see that session here. This week, we have the digital version of the maternity session. Once we were done photographing in Maui’s Upcountry, we headed back down to the beach to catch the sunset. We made it with about 10 minutes to spare. Here is a peek at how we spent the rest of our evening:
The next morning, we went straight back to the beach bright and early. I had an itch for a particular photograph with Jenna’s beautiful maternity belly and she was kind enough to be my model. There’s something about maternity portraits and water that I just love. Photographing a beautiful belly in a bikini is the most natural true-to-lifestyle way I can think of to show off the bare skin protecting the growing little baby inside.
These film photographs were truly a guessing game experiment. I was photographing on 400 speed film in the bright light of the morning, so I rated it to 100, adjusted the settings, held my breath and hoped for the best.
This was truly a personal vision for a glowing pregnant momma that came out so beautifully. Happy Tuesday.
